The selection of Daniel Berry (19, England), David Ryding (19, England), Peter
Whelan (16, England), Kenneth Morton (19, Scotland) and Pamela Thorburn (20,
Scotland) is very encouraging for the future and commenting on the selection
Mark Tilston, Head Coach states:
It s very positive for me to see 5 young athletes coming from the development
squad to the team. It s the first time in several years that we had such a
strong group coming up, particularly since qualification criteria were raised a
couple of years ago. This demonstrates both their level of athleticism and
professional attitude to be performing at this level and it reflects the same
qualities in the effectiveness of the development programme
