Wednesday 18.2.09 Children’s Super G

A cold but beautifully sunny morning was the scene for the first of the Children’s races. There was a cold wind but that did not dampen the enthusiasm of the racers

The Stelvio piste, as has been the case all week, was in excellent condition with the exception of the finish area that had been used for sledging the previous evening. Some driving back and forth by the snow cat and some vigorous raking soon created the smooth finish are required for a speed event.

Competition was as keen as usual with several racers too eager to exit the start gate, resulting in some false start disqualifications. The girls started  the race with the boys following down the same, firm piste.

The winners of the race were as follows:
